- Read the chosen prospectus for entry conditions, noting that the 2026 Under-11 event required both TNSCA and AICF registration.
- Practise complete games with a physical board and clock before entering, then review the difficult positions together.

Online chess classes in Tamil Nadu: common questions
Do state and national player registrations mean the same thing?
The 2026 state Under-11 prospectus lists them separately. It requires TNSCA registration for Tamil Nadu players and AICF registration for all players, with AICF registration accepted online only. TNSCA also directs new players to its online registration portal under the process introduced on 1 September 2023.
Does playing in the state Under-11 event automatically secure a national place?
The 2026 Under-11 prospectus made state championship participation a condition for representing Tamil Nadu through selected or special entries at the National Under-11 championship. That condition does not say every participant receives a place. Read the selection and entry conditions for the relevant event before treating participation as qualification.
What is the fee for children’s online chess classes in Tamil Nadu?
Classes start from ₹375 per class for ages 5–15. Parents can choose 1:1 coaching or a live group with no more than six children, in English or Hindi, with one regular coach and a weekly WhatsApp report. The 30-minute demo is free with no payment. Monthly plans: full refund within 48 hours of enrolling, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended before the third session. After the third session, no refund for the current billing period; cancel to stop future charges. Term packages (3 or 6 months): pro-rated refund minus sessions attended within 7 days of enrolling. After 7 days, no refund; remaining sessions can be completed within the term.
Is online chess suitable in a strong chess state, and is there a ChessWize centre here?
ChessWize has no offline centre in Tamil Nadu; every class is live online. A coach can still observe moves, discuss plans, and review complete games in real time. Online training and local over-the-board play serve different purposes: lessons build skills, while school and district events give children practice handling physical boards and clocks.
Can ChessWize support a Tamil Nadu child who already plays school tournaments?
Yes. The coach first checks the child’s present level, then works on relevant tactics, calculation, openings, and game analysis rather than repeating beginner material. Children can bring games from school or local competitions for review. The same weekly coach sees recurring mistakes, and the parent report records the focus for home practice.
