How many children share the coach?
Children learn in exclusive, skill-matched batches of 4-6 similarly-rated students, synchronised over 12 weeks so the group moves together. If you prefer full attention, the 1:1 Analyst Protocol gives your child a private coach. Either way, the same coach stays with your child every session, with no rotation.

Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. We run age tracks for ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-15, plus beginner, intermediate, advanced, tournament-prep, rating-improvement, and online summer camp levels. A beginner learns the board, legal moves, and a complete game; an advanced student works on calculation, repertoire, and converting training into events.

How will I know it is working?
You receive a weekly WhatsApp report for every student, naming what was taught and what comes next. Coaches track individual understanding in group batches and review your child's own games in private lessons. You do not need to know chess; the report shows the trend in plain language week by week.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Classes are live online sessions your child attends from home, on a shared board with a vetted coach. Because everything happens on video in a structured small group or 1:1 setting, you can see the class environment for yourself, and the weekly report keeps you informed about every session.

What if we stop?
On a Nagercoil monthly plan, email or WhatsApp within 48 hours of enrolling if you want a full refund, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended until the 3rd session, after which the current month is not refunded though cancelling stops later billing. If your child stops partway through a package, starter-pack refunds follow those published windows, and term leftover classes after 7 days can still be finished in the term.

Will the timings fit our week?
Coach availability windows run across the day in IST, from morning slots like 9:30 AM-1:30 PM through 12:30-5:30 PM and into 4:30-9:30 PM IST. Nagercoil stays on IST year-round, so timings never shift. We fit the class around school and the district commute, and the slot stays fixed each week.

Is there a path to tournaments?
Kanyakumari District Chess Association is the body TNSCA lists in Nagercoil. Rotary Club of Nagercoil Town staged a Kanyakumari district-level Under-09 children's chess tournament in 2025 under a KKDCA event code. Ask that association about later junior play, and check the chosen event's requirements. On average, students reach a first tournament in about four months after they start.

What do I have to do at home?
Keep it light and regular. Younger children do well with five to ten focused minutes: set up the board, solve two familiar positions, stop while they are interested. Older children save one serious game a week for class and note one moment they felt unsure. The coach sets everything else.
