Chess in Haryana: finding the right age-group event
Haryana's junior chess has both district and school-team routes. The Haryana Chess Association works through affiliated district units, while eighteen district teams contested the 2024-25 state SGFI under-eleven girls' championship. For younger children, the state under-seven and under-eleven championships took place in Karnal on 20-21 June 2026 as part of a national-selection event. Where have Haryana's younger age groups played state championships?
The 2026 state events used several locations. Under-seven and under-eleven championships took place in Karnal on 20-21 June. Under-nine and under-fifteen open and girls' sections played at Hardayal Public School in Bahadurgarh on 9-10 May. Under-thirteen and under-nineteen sections played at Chitkara International School in Panchkula on 2-3 May.
Has Haryana held a district-team event for younger girls?
Eighteen district teams contested the 6th Haryana State SGFI Under-11 Girls Championship 2024-25. The participating districts included Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Panipat and Ambala. Ask your child's school about later district-team events of this kind. For individual age-group play, ask the Haryana Chess Association or your district unit which section fits your child's age.
What is the cost of online chess coaching for Haryana children?
