Kerala has active school and district chess participation supported by an established state association. Regular online training can sit alongside local over-the-board games, which remain valuable for learning tournament behaviour and time management. The state has an established competitive circuit under the Chess Association Kerala (affiliated to the All India Chess Federation), and has produced GM Nihal Sarin of Thrissur and GM S. L. What do live online chess classes cost for families in Kerala?
Classes start from Rs 375 per class for children aged 5–15. Parents may choose 1:1 lessons or a live batch capped at six, taught in English or Hindi by the same coach each week. A weekly WhatsApp report explains the work covered. The 30-minute demo is free without payment, and unused classes are refundable under plan terms.
Do you have an offline ChessWize centre in Kerala, or are classes online?
All ChessWize coaching is live online; there is no physical centre in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, or any other Kerala city. The coach interacts with the child throughout the class and reviews actual games. Local clubs, school play, or competitions can provide over-the-board practice separately when families want it.
Will online lessons work across Kerala’s different school schedules and districts?
They can, because the family agrees on a regular slot without planning road travel between densely connected towns. The same coach follows the child week by week and can adjust work around examinations or local games.
