How many children share the coach?
Group batches are strictly limited to 4-6 similarly-rated students, placed by working level so nobody is out of depth. Within the batch there is peer play, group calculation, and coach-led review. If you prefer full attention, the 1:1 Analyst Protocol gives your child a private coach mapping their game directly.

Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. There is a written roadmap for every stage: beginner (board, legal moves, first complete game), intermediate (tactical vision, candidate moves), advanced (calculation, repertoire, converting training into events), plus tournament-prep and rating-improvement tracks. Age-specific plans cover ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-15.

How will I know it is working?
You receive a weekly WhatsApp report for every student, so you can see exactly what was covered and what comes next even if you do not play chess yourself. Coaches review real games your child has played, name the specific error patterns, and set the next week's work against them.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Classes are live online sessions with a single assigned coach and a small, known group of children, so nothing happens anonymously. Because everything runs on scheduled video sessions, you can sit nearby or check in at any point, and the weekly WhatsApp report shows you what each class covered.

Can we try before paying?
Yes. Every child starts with a complimentary 30-minute demo and level check before you commit to anything. The coach assesses where your child actually plays, you discuss timing around tuition and parish activities, and there is no payment needed for that first session.

What if we stop?
If you withdraw from a Kottayam monthly plan inside 48 hours of enrolling, the refund is full, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended until the 3rd session, after which the current month is not refunded while cancelling stops later billing. Combined with the free level check, the first real decision about continuing comes after you have seen how your child responds to the coaching.

An inter-school Under 16 Girls championship was recorded in August 2025. A Below 1700 one-day tournament was listed for 25 October 2026. What do I have to do at home?
Very little is required from you. Younger children do best with five to ten focused minutes: setting up the board, one familiar position, stopping while they are still interested. Older children save one serious game a week for class review. If a rule causes confusion at home, send it to the coach.
