Batches are capped at 4-6 similarly-rated students, so the coach works closely with every child. Group learning stays intense with peer-play and group calculation, and each batch runs as a 12-week synchronized group. Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. We run a structured ladder from beginner through intermediate and advanced, with dedicated age tracks for ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-15. Each level has its own roadmap, and children move toward tournament-prep and rating-improvement when they are ready. The complimentary 30-min level check places your child on the right rung first.

How will I know it is working?
You receive a weekly WhatsApp report for every student. It shows what your child covered that week, so you can follow progress even if you do not play chess yourself. Is it safe, and can I see the classes?

What if we stop?
Thrissur leaves a monthly plan with a full refund inside 48 hours of enrolling, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended before the 3rd class. Session three is when that month is kept, and cancelling is what stops later charges. If a festival or a family commitment shifts your routine, you can pause and remaining sessions are kept, or message the coach on WhatsApp at least 4 hours ahead for a free make-up.

What do I have to do at home?
Very little, and it stays small. For this age group, five to ten focused minutes can do more than a long practice block: set up the board, show how one piece moves, solve two familiar positions, and stop while your child is still interested. Children who already play casually are placed by the level check into intermediate or advanced batches, so nobody sits bored or lost in the wrong group.
Is there a summer option during school holidays?
Yes, an online summer camp runs alongside the regular weekly classes. Camp days set one clear objective, learn and apply it the same day, and end with a continuation plan. Extra homework stays light because the days are already concentrated: save one position or game, review the main idea, and let your child rest away from the screen.
How soon could my child play in a real tournament?
On average, four months from starting with us. When your child is ready, tournament-prep begins: we rehearse the expected time control, repair the game plan, and review games after each event. The weekly report keeps you informed at every step.
