Chess in Andhra Pradesh: how junior events are organised
Andhra Chess Association is the All India Chess Federation affiliate for the state. It is recognised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh. Online chess classes in Andhra Pradesh: common questions
What paperwork does an official Andhra Pradesh state championship require?
Andhra Chess Association told district associations on 26 March 2026 that registration in the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh KREEDA App is compulsory for state championships. A later notice said a SAAP ID is compulsory for participation in all official Andhra Pradesh state chess championships. The 2026 Under-11 prospectus also states that ACA registration for 2026 is mandatory for all participants. Check the chosen event notice and confirm which steps apply before submitting an entry.
Can my child be recommended to a national championship without playing the state event?
From 14 March 2026, Andhra Chess Association said no player would be recommended as a donor or special entry to National Championships without taking part in the respective state championship. That is a recommendation rule on that notice, not a promise of selection. Separately, AICF says new registration and renewal remain valid from 1 April to 31 March of the accounting year.

Do you have a ChessWize centre in Visakhapatnam or Vijayawada?
No. ChessWize is live online only, with no physical centre in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tirupati, or elsewhere in Andhra Pradesh. A coach teaches, observes, and reviews games in real time. Children can still play over the board through their school or suitable local events when families want tournament experience.
Can children from different Andhra Pradesh districts receive consistent coaching?
Yes. Because lessons happen online, a child’s district does not change the class size, regular-coach model, or weekly parent reporting. This helps families along the coast and farther inland who may not have the same nearby options as a major city. English and Hindi are offered; Telugu is not currently listed as a teaching language.
