01My child is 5 and can't sit still for 10 minutes. Will this work?
Yes. The Foundation Programme is built for high-energy children. Quick, game-like puzzles stretch their attention span over 15 days. Parents often tell us focus grows from about 5 minutes to 25-30 minutes within the first two weeks. Each puzzle sits at the child's own skill level, which is what keeps them playing.
02How is this different from the free chess.com app?
Free apps teach you how the pieces move. We teach a child how to think under pressure. An app won't correct your child's frustration when they lose, nor will it explain why their impulsive decision-making is failing. Our experienced coaches provide live tactical and emotional coaching. Apps give everyone the same puzzles; we diagnose your child's specific weaknesses and build a custom drill set around them.
03My child already has a chess coach. Why should I switch?
Most coaches teach openings and tactics in a fixed order. We start with a diagnostic of your child's gaps (calculation depth, attention, response to losing) and build the programme around them. A child stuck at one rating for 3+ months usually has a training problem, not an effort problem. Our programme is built to break those plateaus.
04Is this only for competitive players?
No. About 40% of our students have no interest in tournaments. Their parents enrolled them because chess is one of the most effective tools for building focus, patience, and logical thinking — skills that carry straight into school. Whether you want competitive Elo growth or cognitive development, the programme adapts to your child's goals.
05What if my child misses a live session?
Cancel with at least 4 hours of notice for a free make-up session. Sessions missed without notice count as delivered and are not refundable. Contact the coach on WhatsApp to arrange a make-up.
06Do I need to know chess to help them?
Absolutely not. Our system is fully self-contained. Your only job is to check the parent dashboard — it shows progress in plain English: topics covered, accuracy percentages, and performance trends. No chess knowledge needed.
07Can parents observe a class?
Yes. Parents may sit in on any class, any time, with no notice needed. Your coach's detailed session notes are on your dashboard.
08What software or device does my child need?
Any laptop, desktop, or tablet with a stable internet connection and a webcam. Classes run on Zoom plus our own student platform for puzzles, homework, and progress tracking. Nothing to install. It all runs in the browser.
09How much does it cost?
Three coaching modes: Group · Two-on-One · 1:1 Coaching. Group sessions start at ₹375/session, Two-on-One at ₹550, and 1:1 Coaching at ₹1,000. You get 10–20% off depending on package size (24, 48, or 96 sessions). No hidden fees. Pause for exams or holidays and your remaining sessions are kept. A monthly plan can be cancelled to stop future charges. Term packages follow /legal/refund/. 10What's your refund policy?
Monthly plans: full refund within 48 hours of enrolling, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended before the third session. After the third session, no refund for the current billing period; cancel to stop future charges. Term packages (3 or 6 months): pro-rated refund minus sessions attended within 7 days of enrolling. After 7 days, no refund; remaining sessions can be completed within the term. Request by email or WhatsApp. Refunds return to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.
