How classes run

How many children share the coach?
The standard format is a skill-matched batch of 4-6 students, so your child shares the coach with a handful of similarly-rated peers rather than a large crowd. Intense peer play and group calculation happen inside that small circle. If you want the coach's full attention, a 1:1 analyst protocol is available as a separate track.

Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
There is a written ladder from first moves to rated play: beginner, intermediate, and advanced tracks, plus tournament-prep and rating-improvement roadmaps, with age bands for ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-15. Each stage has named goals, for example beginners learn opening principles and basic tactics, while advanced students refine repertoire and strategy before converting training into events.

How will I know it is working?
You do not have to guess. A weekly WhatsApp report covers what was taught and how your child responded, so progress is visible without extra parent meetings. Over months you can compare those notes against your child's saved games and watch themes move from dropped pieces to deliberate attacks. That is how a parent who does not play chess can still judge the coaching.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Sessions are live and supervised over video, with no open chat with strangers and a named coach your child knows. In the spirit of COPPA, a parent sets up the account and provides only what is needed to run classes. Because every class is live rather than a video library, you can sit nearby or watch the demo class yourself to see exactly how it runs.

What if we stop?
Stopping a monthly plan from Raleigh is covered with a full refund within 48 hours of enrolling; later but before the 3rd session, a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended is issued.
