Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes, from first legal moves to tournament play. Age tracks cover ages 5-8, ages 9-12, and ages 13-15, while level tracks run beginner, intermediate, and advanced, with tournament preparation and rating improvement above them. A beginner finishes complete games and learns opening principles; an advanced student deepens calculation, refines repertoire, and converts training into events.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Sessions are live, so the coach observes your child's play and adapts explanations during the class itself. The same coach attends every session, so the setting stays familiar instead of rotating strangers. The weekly WhatsApp report tells you what happened, and an adult can sit nearby with younger children for the first few minutes while they settle.

What if we stop?
Gandhinagar monthly billing can be reversed within 48 hours of enrolling as a full refund. The monthly middle path is a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended, after 48 hours and before class three, then the month is kept while cancelling stops future charges. The 7-day window on term packs refunds the fee minus classes already taken, leftover sessions can still be finished, and the free demo and level check before payment let you see the teaching first.

Yes, the IST windows are wide. Coach availability runs from a 9:30 AM-1:30 PM IST morning start through afternoon options such as 12:30-5:30 PM IST, into evening windows of 4:30-9:30 PM IST and 5:30-8:30 PM IST. That spread fits school pickups, homework, and the corridor runs toward Ahmedabad that many Gandhinagar families make.

Is there a path to tournaments?
A Gandhinagar district under-17 boys selection for district players was listed for 2026, with city under-11 and under-14 girls files recorded in 2025. Ask Gujarat State Chess Association about later events, and check the chosen event's requirements. GSCA registration is compulsory for Gujarat state-level events. On average, students reach a first tournament in about four months of coaching.

What do I have to do at home?
