What this Anand class is
ChessWize is a live online chess class for children aged 5–15, offered to families in Anand. A named coach teaches on a video call and shared digital board; this is not an in-person branch.

Chess in Anand also keeps a strong over-the-board side through Gujarat's school and open events, and the tournament-prep track points weekly training at those dates. Chess in Anand: building a school-to-state plan
Anand is named in the title of the Anand All India Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2026, a nine-round rapid whose ranking file was last updated on 28 February 2026. The KMK State Open Boys starting list also carries Anand in its Club/City field. GSCA, which uploaded that rapid file, says it conducts workshops and intra-school tournaments for Gujarat schools.

- Choose a first event only after checking age eligibility and the published entry instructions.

Class times for Anand
Anand stays on India Standard Time (IST, no DST) all year, and India does not observe daylight saving, so the local window and the IST mapping are identical in every season. Coach availability runs in bands: the earliest window opens at 9:30 AM-1:30 PM IST, midday options include 12:30-5:30 PM IST, and the evening extends as late as 4:30-9:30 PM IST, with some coaches finishing at 5:30-8:30 PM IST. Who teaches my child, and are they rated?
Your child is taught live by a coach. The team includes Hrdyansh Pandey, Tarun Gupta and Aryan Pal. After the level check we assign the coach whose strengths match your child's level, and that coach continues with your child rather than rotating.

How many children share the coach?
Batches hold 4-6 students placed by working level, so your child shares the coach only with children of similar strength. The group runs as a 12-week synchronized batch with peer games and shared calculation work. If you prefer undivided attention, the 1:1 Analyst Protocol gives one coach to one child.

Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes, from first moves to rated play. The ladder starts with beginner work on the board, legal moves and finishing a complete game, moves through intermediate and advanced training in tactics, calculation, repertoire and conversion, and tops out at tournament preparation and rating improvement. Age-specific roadmaps cover ages 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15, so the weekly goal always fits the child.

How will I know it is working?
You get a written report on WhatsApp every week. It tells you what the class covered and where your child is improving, so you can follow the training without sitting in on lessons. Because the same coach teaches every session, the report also builds a continuous record you can compare month to month.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Classes are live online with a named coach and at most 4-6 children per batch. Younger children can have a parent nearby for the first few minutes while they settle in, and the weekly report keeps you informed after every session, so you always know what was taught.

Can we try before paying?
Yes, you can. Book the complimentary 30-min demo: your child meets the coach, plays a few positions and completes the level check before you commit to anything. There is no payment involved in that first session, and you decide afterwards whether the fit is right.

What if we stop?
Anand monthly plans return the fee as a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of enrolling. Until session three a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended still applies, then the month is kept while cancelling stops future charges.

Will the timings fit our week?
Very likely. Coach windows span the day: some start at 10:30 AM-2:30 PM IST for younger children, others sit at 1:30-4:30 PM IST after school, and evening coaches run until 4:30-9:30 PM IST for older students with homework. Because Anand is on IST year-round with no daylight saving, your chosen slot never shifts.

Is there a path to tournaments?
The Anand All India Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament posted a final ranking after nine rounds, last updated 28 February 2026. Ask Gujarat State Chess Association about later junior notices; GSCA registration is compulsory for state-level play, so check the chosen event's requirements. On average, students reach a first tournament in about four months.

What do I have to do at home?
Very little. Younger children do best with five to ten focused minutes at the board, while older students save one serious game a week or bring a position that confused them. Send the game link or photo to the coach and the next lesson starts from that real material. No chess knowledge is needed from you.
