What this Silchar class is

That nine-round rating open drew 232 players, including an IM, from across India and five from Nepal. Former CDCA president Sarajit Nath was named among prize-ceremony officials. A Cachar player finished third on 7.5/9 at the 2025 inter-district rating open in Jorhat, showing district players already scoring away from home.

From online class to a first tournament
- Ask Cachar District Chess Association, named as co-organiser of the Assam University open, which Silchar notice is open to a school-age player.

- Register with AICF for the 01 April to 31 March accounting year before a rating open prints a closing date.

How classes run

Group batches are small by design: 4-6 similarly-rated students in 12-week synchronized batches, with peer play, group calculation and one clear weekly idea. Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. Beginners start with the board and legal moves, then finish complete games, apply opening principles and find basic tactics and endings. Intermediate students choose candidate moves and read positional clues; advanced players deepen calculation, refine repertoire and convert training into events. Age tracks for 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15 run alongside, plus tournament-prep and rating-improvement plans.

How will I know it is working?
You get a weekly WhatsApp report for every student, so you can follow the class without knowing chess yourself. Divya says in her video 'He is able to understand the logic', and the weekly report is how you follow that work. Small batches let the coach track individual understanding, not just group pace.

Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Classes are live and online, so your child joins from your own home on a device you control, with no travel through evening traffic. Batches cap at 4-6 students, or one to one, so the coach knows every child present. The weekly WhatsApp report shows you what was covered, and you can raise anything directly with the coach.

Can we try before paying?

What if we stop?
Silchar gives a full refund within 48 hours of enrolling on a monthly plan, then pro-rates minus attended sessions until the 3rd class. Three sessions in, that month remains on the bill, and a cancel only stops what comes next. The free demo still lets you see a class before you enrol, and leftover term sessions after 7 days can still be taken inside the term.

Will the timings fit our week?
Yes. Coach windows in IST span the day: late-morning slots such as 9:30 AM-1:30 PM, afternoon availability like 12:30-5:30 PM or 1:30-4:30 PM, and evening slots including 4:30-9:30 PM and 5:30-8:30 PM. Because Silchar evenings often go to school travel, we fix one slot in the demo and it repeats at the same time weekly.

What do I have to do at home?
