You can begin with the level check, then move to a starter pack of ₹2,500 for 8 classes. Regular plans after that run from ₹375 to ₹1,000 per class depending on the plan. Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. Levels run from ages 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15 through beginner, intermediate and advanced, with dedicated tracks for tournament prep, rating improvement and an online summer camp. Each track has its own roadmap, from finishing a first complete game as a beginner to converting training into events at advanced level, so you always know which step comes next.

How will I know it is working?
You get a weekly WhatsApp report for every student, so you can see what your child worked on each week. You do not need to know chess to read it. What if we stop?
Leaving a monthly plan from Roorkee is covered with a full refund within 48 hours of enrolling; later but before the 3rd session, a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended is issued. After the 3rd session the month you are in is not returned, and cancelling stops future charges. Families can pause for a busy exam season or travel, and remaining sessions are kept.

Will the timings fit our week? Roorkee runs on India Standard Time with no daylight shifting, so the windows are predictable all year: late-morning and midday slots from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, afternoon windows from 12:30 to 5:30 PM, and evening batches from 4:30 to 9:30 PM IST. For school-going children the afternoon and evening windows fit best, and the 12-week batch cycle keeps the slot stable.

Is there a path to tournaments?
Yes. For Roorkee juniors, Dev Bhoomi Chess Association organised the 20th Uttarakhand state-level championship with Under-7 to Under-17 sections from all districts, and that event opened at Bhartiyam International School. Ask that association about later age-group notices, and confirm the chosen event's requirements. On average, students reach a first tournament in about four months after starting.

What do I have to do at home?
What do I have to do at home? Very little for younger children: five to ten focused minutes at the board beats a long forced practice block, and casual family games help if you resist correcting every move. Older children keep a small error log and bring one saved game or one honest question to class. If anything blocks practice, message the coach.
