No. Coaches prepare children for school, club, district, and AICF events. The plan matches the event type and the child's current level.

How far ahead of a tournament should we start?

As soon as the event date is known is ideal, so repertoire gaps and clock practice fit a calm schedule. Last-minute cramming is possible but weaker than steady prep.

Is one-on-one required for tournament prep?

One-on-one is the usual fit because every minute targets your child's openings and mistakes. Some tournament-track children also train in small groups between events.
