How many children share the coach?
Group batches hold 4-6 students, placed by working level so nobody is bored or left behind. Batches run 12 weeks on a synchronized plan with peer play, group calculation and team-based tactics. Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. Can we try before paying?
Yes. Every family starts with a complimentary 30-min level check before you commit, a real session with a real coach rather than a sales call. The coach measures where your child stands, you both see whether the format fits, and only then do you consider the starter pack. There is no charge and no obligation attached.

What if we stop?
If you stop a monthly plan from Srinagar, cancel within 48 hours of enrolling for a full refund; after that and before the 3rd session the return is pro-rated minus classes attended. After the 3rd session the current month is not returned, and cancelling stops future charges. If a storm or an outage interrupts connectivity, reschedule with the coach at least 4 hours ahead for a free make-up.

Will the timings fit our week?
All windows run on India Standard Time, which is Srinagar's own clock year-round, so nothing needs converting. Is there a path to tournaments?
On average, students reach a first tournament in about four months from the first lesson. All J&K Chess Association organised the Under-15 and Under-19 championship at the Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar, in September 2026, with the top four in each category chosen for nationals. Ask the association about later fixtures and check that event's requirements.

What do I have to do at home?
Less than you fear. Five to ten focused minutes between sessions are enough for young children: setting up the board, solving two familiar positions, or saving one game to show the coach.
