- Finish a complete game. Once the rules are stable, the child plays guided games. The coach helps with a simple thinking routine but leaves enough space for the student to make and correct decisions.
- Use opening principles. Development, centre control, and king safety give the first moves a purpose. The child learns principles that work across many openings before studying a named repertoire.

- Audit the player's game. Recent tournament and online games are grouped by error type. The coach establishes priorities and distinguishes one-off mistakes from patterns that need a training block.
- Deepen calculation. Exercises include candidate selection, comparison of resulting positions, defensive resources, and stopping points. Accuracy and evaluation matter more than the number of moves calculated.
- Refine repertoire and strategy. Opening files are tied to model positions and likely opponents. Middlegame work covers pawn structures, exchanges, initiative, and transitions rather than memorisation alone.

How child safety works
Every coach clears a multi-step hiring process, and background verification — police clearance plus a reference check — is completed before they teach a child. Classes are live lessons rather than recorded lesson libraries, parents may sit in on any session, and a parent or guardian should remain at home during classes for children under eight. A newcomer starts with the board, legal moves and short complete games alongside other beginners, while a child already playing rated events trains calculation and conversion with stronger peers. Private 1:1 coaching is available if you would rather skip groups entirely.
Will we know if it is actually working?
Each week you receive a WhatsApp report covering what was taught and how your child responded, so you never have to guess. You will also see it in the games: fewer dropped pieces, longer plans, calmer endgames. If tournament play is the goal, results speak last, and recent cohorts finished 12 district events with 4 wins among them.
Does my child need to know chess before joining?
No. The beginner track assumes nothing: it starts with the board and legal moves, moves to finishing a complete game, then opening principles and basic tactics and endings. Younger children join the ages 5-8 track, which builds safe move habits and short complete games. The complimentary level check before you commit places your child on the right rung from day one.
Which language are the classes taught in?
Coaches teach in English or Hindi, whichever your child follows more comfortably at home. Chess ideas are explained in plain words either way, so children more at ease in one language still follow the same weekly idea together. If the language is not working after a couple of classes, tell us and we adjust.
Is my child safe in an online class?
Yes. Each session is a live class with one named coach and the children of one batch, so there is no open room of strangers and no unsupervised chat. The coach who greets your child in week one is the same person in week ten, and you are welcome to sit nearby for the first classes to see how it runs.
What should my child practise between classes?
Little and often. A short set of positions or one saved game is enough homework; the point is arriving ready to explain an idea, not racing through puzzles. For younger children, five to ten focused minutes work best, and it is fine to stop while they are still interested. Save one game a week for the coach rather than a long stream of fast games.
Can my child take private lessons instead of a group?
Yes. Private coaching follows the 1:1 Analyst Protocol: the coach maps the current game, targets the highest-value gap, tests the change in real play, and resets priorities with you. Homework is precise, often positions taken from your child's own games. Some families begin private and move into a 4-6 batch later, or keep both through the year.
