Jalgaon District Chess Association is the MCA-listed local body. PIB reported that the 38th National Under-11 Chess Championship opened on 2 August 2025 at Anubhooti Mandap in Jain Hills, Jalgaon, and named the district association among the organisers with MCA and AICF. How many children share the coach?
Group batches are strictly capped at 4-6 similarly-rated students, so intense peer play and group calculation stay personal rather than getting lost in a crowd. Batches run on a synchronized 12-week cycle. If you want the coach's full attention, the 1:1 Analyst Protocol gives your child a private session with the same coach throughout.

Is there a real curriculum from beginner to rated play?
Yes. The ladder runs from beginner through intermediate and advanced to dedicated tournament preparation and rating improvement, with age-specific roadmaps for ages 5-8, 9-12 and 13-15. A beginner starts with the board and legal moves and finishes complete games; an advanced student audits their own play, deepens calculation and converts training into events.

How will I know it is working?
You receive a weekly WhatsApp report for every student, so you can see what was covered and how your child is progressing even if you do not play chess yourself. Is it safe, and can I see the classes?
Classes are live online sessions with a verified experienced coach present the whole time, and your child joins from home, so you can sit nearby or check in whenever you like. There is no travel to an unfamiliar address and no unsupervised venue. For younger children, an adult can stay for the first few minutes and then let the child work directly with the coach.

What if we stop?
A Jalgaon monthly plan still gives a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of enrolling, then a pro-rated refund minus sessions attended before the 3rd session, beyond which the month in progress is not refunded and cancelling cuts later billing. Term leftover classes can still be finished within the term after the 7-day pro-rated window from enrolling closes, and the weekly WhatsApp report helps you see early if the fit is not right.

Ask that district body about later junior notices, and check each event's requirements. On average, students here reach a first tournament in about four months.

What do I have to do at home?
Very little. For ages 5-8, five to ten focused minutes a few times a week is enough: set up the board, solve two familiar positions, stop while the child is still interested. Older children should keep one serious game each week and carry a single honest question into the next class. You do not need to know chess; the coach sets and reviews everything.
