Inside the class

What a ChessWize session looks like

Tarun's curriculum defines the progression path, while Hrdyansh's coaching pattern shows how each live session turns that plan into guided practice, game analysis, and a parent-visible next step.

  1. 13 min

    Recap last week's homework

The coach checks what the student practised and where the last assignment created confusion.

  2. 210 min

    Concept of the day

The lesson follows ChessWize's structured curriculum and adapts to the student's current rating band.

  3. 310 min

    Tactical drill

The student solves guided positions on Lichess study or Chess.com classroom with coach prompts.

  4. 415 min

    Live game vs the coach

The coach plays at the student's level to expose decision-making habits in real positions.

  5. 55 min

    Game review + key moments

The coach reviews the most important moves instead of overwhelming the child with every mistake.

  6. 62 min

    Homework + WhatsApp summary

The student leaves with a clear task, and parents receive a concise WhatsApp progress note.

Honest comparison

ChessWize programmes vs alternatives

Most parents are choosing between free content, local groups, private tutors, and a structured online academy. The trade-off is usually diagnosis, curriculum, and parent visibility.

Parent questions

FAQ

Everything parents ask before enrolling — answered clearly and honestly.

What does each session include?

A typical coaching session includes homework recap, a focused lesson-plan concept, tactical drills, live play, game review, and a short homework assignment. In 1:1 sessions, coaches use Lichess study or Chess.com classroom and send a WhatsApp summary to parents after the class.

How are coaches assigned to my child?

The complimentary 30-min demo helps ChessWize assess your child's current level, learning style, and goals. The assigned coach then stays with the child through the programme, so parents are not dealing with weekly coach rotation.

Can my child switch programmes (e.g., group → 1-on-1)?

Yes. The existing course page explains that children can move between programmes as they grow, and coaches recommend the right time to shift levels or formats. A child can begin in a small group and move to 1:1 when tournament preparation or faster diagnosis becomes important.

What if my child misses a session?

The current course policy says missed classes can be rescheduled within the same week at no extra cost. Families should still coordinate early with the coach so the child's weekly rhythm and homework plan stay on track.

How do I know my child is making progress?

Parents receive a weekly WhatsApp report from the coach covering what was taught, what improved, and what to practise next. For longer-term growth, ChessWize uses a four-phase curriculum from Foundation through Mastery so progress can be discussed against a clear learning path.

What happens after I request the demo?

Our team first arranges a quick 10-minute call with you to understand your child. The complimentary 30-minute level-check demo with a coach is then scheduled, and after the demo the team recommends the most suitable plan, session frequency, and next step based on the child's current chess level.

Can my child be enrolled in tournaments alongside coaching?

Yes. ChessWize coaches support AICF and tournament preparation on demand, especially in individual and advanced tracks. The coaching work can include opening repertoire, time management, tactical sharpening, and post-game review.

Is there a minimum commitment?

No long-term lock-in. The page lists 24, 48 and 96-session packages, and new families usually start with the ₹2,500 starter pack (8 classes) after the complimentary demo. Unused sessions are refunded, so you are never locked into classes your child doesn't take.

How does the refund policy work?

Refunds for unused sessions are processed within 5–7 business days back to the original payment method, no questions asked. This is the site-wide promise parents see on every page: you only pay for the classes your child actually takes.

Are there discounts for siblings or annual prepayment?

Yes. Siblings get a 10% discount on the second child, and annual prepayment unlocks 2 free months — mention either at booking. The page also lists package discounts (10% off 24 sessions, 15% off 48, 20% off 96), and the two-on-one format is designed for siblings or friends learning together.

PICK YOUR FORMAT. WE'LL HANDLE THE REST.

Group, two-on-one, or 1:1 — your call after the complimentary demo.

Most parents start with the demo, then switch format if needed. No commitment until session 5.
